Trump to personally fund new flagpoles at White House
Changes are being prepared at the White House. As Donald Trump revealed, two additional flagpoles will appear on the northern side of the presidential building. The American president claims he will pay for the planned project himself.
President Donald Trump is gearing up for changes at the White House. This time, however, it's not about modifications to his political office. The American leader announced that new, patriotic elements will appear near the building.
These are two large flagpoles, to be installed on the northern side of the American president's residence. According to the "New York Post," the flags are to be over 30 metres wide.
Donald Trump announced that the installation will not burden American taxpayers. He told reporters that he will pay for the installation of the two flagpoles himself.
We’re putting up a beautiful, almost 100-foot-tall American flag on this side and another one on the other side, two flags, top of the line - said Donald Trump to American reporters.
Currently, there are no flagpoles for American flags on the White House grounds. One flag flies atop the building. Donald Trump believes that's insufficient.
They needed flagpoles for 200 years. It was something I’ve often said, you know, they don’t have a flagpole per se - admitted the American president.
Trump is turning his words into action. The flagpoles are expected to arrive in Washington next week. For now, the American president, along with White House gardeners and planners, is carefully considering where the structures will be placed.
The flagpoles are not the only projects planned at the White House. Donald Trump has already announced that the Rose Garden will be remodelled. It's possible that a ballroom may also be built at the White House.
