U.S. may withdraw mediation as Russia-Ukraine talks stall

Is the Trump administration losing patience with the ongoing negotiations between Russia and Ukraine? This seems evident from the words of U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance. The politician announced that American mediation would cease if Washington's proposals do not receive a positive response.

Donald Trump promised that he would promptly end the war between Russia and Ukraine. So far, he has not initiated negotiations at the presidential level. It has become clear that a summit of foreign ministers discussing peace talks in Ukraine will not take place, among other events. It has been postponed indefinitely.

The delay in negotiations is a result of Russia's stance, which sets conditions that Ukraine finds impossible to meet. The prolongation of talks is causing irritation within the U.S. government administration. U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance has even announced that the United States might withdraw from its role as mediator between Ukraine and Russia.

We will withdraw from mediating between Russia and Ukraine if we do not receive a positive response, said Vance during his visit to India.

The U.S. Vice President believes that the United States has presented both sides with fair proposals for resolving the conflict.

We have presented a clear and fair proposal to both the Russians and Ukrainians, added J.D. Vance.

This demonstrates that the prolonged negotiations are beginning to test the patience of Donald Trump's administration, which is eager to quickly end the conflict.

The peace talks are not made easier by the ongoing Russian attacks on Ukrainian civilian targets. In the morning shelling of Marhanets, 9 people were killed and 30 were injured. The tragedy was caused by the impact of a Russian combat drone.
