Ukraine-Russia peace talks in Istanbul: Putin's absence looms

According to Reuters, the meeting will be attended by Steve Witkoff, the special envoy of the President of the United States for the Middle East, and General Keith Kellogg, the special envoy of the President of the United States for Ukraine.
President Donald Trump announced on Monday that he is considering going to Istanbul on Thursday. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has already confirmed his attendance. It remains unclear whether Russian leader Vladimir Putin will be present.
According to unofficial reports, Putin will not be attending the talks in Istanbul.
