Ukrainian artillery hits new distance record with Krab and Vulcano

Ukrainian artillerymen have reportedly achieved a record, according to local media. With the aid of the Polish Krab, they managed to hit targets at a distance of 69 kilometres. There is also mention of a "mysterious guided projectile."

As suggested by Defence24, this might concern Vulcano ammunition. The Polish military plans to integrate the Krab with these missiles, which enable firing over such a considerable distance.

Representatives from Leonardo, the manufacturer of Vulcano, confirm ongoing discussions regarding trial tests.

Vulcano missiles. Ukrainians might have tested new ammunition

Reports from Ukraine suggest that their soldiers might have already tested Vulcano missiles in combat conditions. The Krab, with this ammunition, achieves twice the range of standard rounds. Vulcano, due to its design, allows precise hits with an error margin of approximately 2 to 3 metres.

Vulcano missiles are sub-calibre ammunition, smaller than the classic 155 mm shells. Thanks to a GPS-guided system supported by INS, they ensure high precision.
