Ukrainian cadet exposed as Russian spy in missile plot

A cadet from a prestigious Ukrainian military institute was uncovered as a Russian spy. The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) revealed that the young man, while a student at the institute, was also collaborating with the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB). He provided the Russians with a significant amount of valuable information.

The young man was assigned various tasks, including coordinating Russian attacks on critical targets.

"At the enemy's request, the accused was supposed to coordinate a missile strike on the educational institution's facilities where he studied. To complete this task, the accused marked the coordinates of the institute's buildings, training grounds, and barracks on maps." - reads an SBU statement.

While at the institute, the agent also took photos of locations that were of interest to the Russians, as well as prepared reports for the FSB officer overseeing the operation. He provided very detailed information in these reports, such as the schedule of cadets' presence at various locations.

SBU cybersecurity specialists uncovered his activities and apprehended him on the university grounds. "SBU investigators served the man with notice of suspicion of committing a crime - state treason during martial law." - states the SBU.

The detainee is currently in custody without the right to bail. He faces a life sentence along with the confiscation of property.
