Ukrainian drones targeted the headquarters of the second-largest Russian microelectronics producer, JSC Kremniy El Group plant in Bryansk. This company is under sanctions by the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

Microprocessors produced by the plant are utilized by the Russian military for various purposes, including Iskander ballistic missiles. The company is also part of the Russian federal programme "Alternative," aimed at developing new radars with active phased array systems for air defence and installation on aircraft and ships.

The plant halted production

The Bryansk "Kremnij EL" plant had to suspend operations following the drone attack. According to "Kommersant," six strikes were recorded overnight, damaging certain production buildings and warehouses. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

According to the Ministry of Defence, 37 drones were shot down overnight over the Bryansk region, 18 of which were reactive. The region's governor, Alexander Bogomaz, reported that 121 drones were destroyed over Russian regions. This is not the first time the "Kremnij EL" plant has been targeted.

In October 2024, a similar incident caused power outages and production disruptions.

The current attack has again affected production chains, forcing the plant to halt operations temporarily. Despite this, the plant reports no casualties among employees.
