Ukrainian drones defy Russian tech as T‑90M tanks fail
The Ukrainian armed forces are celebrating victories on the front lines. They have shared a recording on social media depicting a drone strike on a Russian tank.
"Another russian T-90M was destroyed by an FPV drone," reported the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They uploaded a recording of the event on social media.
The video was ironically captioned, "Most advanced or most failed?"
The footage shows an FPV drone targeting a Russian tank. The unmanned aerial vehicle closes in on the T-90M, and soon the tank bursts into flames.
Advanced technology? Russian tank succumbs to Ukrainian drones
The T-90 is a Russian tank that began production in 1993. The T-90M version is its latest, modernised iteration.
Despite its advanced technology, the T-90M faces criticism, particularly from the Ukrainian armed forces, who frequently analyse captured units. It has been discovered that the tank's microelectronics are vulnerable to damage, and that its technical solutions are based on older models like the T-72. Additionally, problems with radio communication contribute to the crew's difficulties.
Despite praise from Vladimir Putin, who described the tank as "the world's best," it turns out that the T-90M often loses battles, including those against Ukrainian drones.
