Ukrainian military intelligence, HUR, carried out an effective sabotage operation in Russia, targeting the railway infrastructure in Voronezh.

"Ukrainians disabled a locomotive in Voronezh that was carrying military equipment. Weapons and other equipment were being moved from Russian enterprises to the occupied territories of Ukraine," reported an intelligence source cited by the Ukrinform agency.

Increasing effectiveness of Ukrainian operations

The operation took place earlier this week, aimed at disrupting military transport. This is not the first operation conducted by HUR. At the end of February, agents performed a similar operation at the Orikhovo-Zuevo depot in Moscow Oblast, although details of this operation have not yet been disclosed.

The Irregular Warfare Initiative portal highlights that since the beginning of Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, logistics has played a crucial role in the course of the war.

"Ukrainian special operations, in collaboration with both Ukrainian and Russian partisans, have launched a campaign aimed at disabling Russian railway infrastructure. This unconventional sabotage campaign is gaining increasing momentum, demonstrating the potential effectiveness of this strategy in future conflicts," it was noted.
