US limits intelligence sharing with Ukraine amidst tensions

The US continues to provide intelligence data to Ukraine, but on a limited scale, reports CNN, citing American officials. Earlier this week, there were reports that access had been cut off.

On Wednesday, the Reuters agency, citing the British newspaper "Financial Times", reported that the United States has stopped sharing intelligence data with Ukraine.

Simultaneously, the Ukrainian portal Suspilne reported on the Telegram messenger that Washington continues to share intelligence data with Kyiv.

According to Edward Lawrence, a Fox News correspondent at the White House, CIA Director John Ratcliffe told the station’s reporter Maria Bartiromo that the United States has halted the delivery of military equipment and weapons to Ukraine and stopped sharing intelligence data with them. The decision was said to have been made after events at the White House and a dispute between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during the Ukrainian leader's visit to the US.

CNN: US continues to provide intelligence data

Now CNN reports that the United States still provides data to Ukraine but limits information that could be used for attacks on Russia. Data that can assist Ukraine in defence, however, is still reaching Kyiv. The US does not want to be regarded as directly involved in attacks on Russian positions, according to sources cited by CNN.

On Friday, the US government also informed about halting Ukraine's access to classified satellite images used by Kyiv in its defensive conflict with Russia.

On the same day, Donald Trump stated on the Truth Social platform that he is "strongly" considering imposing large-scale sanctions and tariffs on Russia until a ceasefire is achieved and a definitive peace agreement is reached. According to the Axios portal, Moscow's actions are increasingly irritating Trump.
