This robot, equipped with over 60 joints and 200 degrees of freedom, is already being used at the company's factory in Guangzhou to assemble electric vehicles. Iron is powered by a specially designed Turing AI chip, which enables it to perform complex tasks precisely.
The future: Flying cars
In January 2025, Xpeng unveiled its AEROHT flying car at the CES trade show. This vehicle features a modular design that allows the aerial module to detach from the ground vehicle. This makes autonomous take-off and landing possible, making it the world's first system of its kind.
According to Interesting Engineering, Xpeng is focusing on developing flying cars and autonomous driving technology. The company plans to introduce vehicles with Level 4 autonomous features, including completely unmanned parking.
