Drying laundry faster: Simple washing machine hack revealed
In summer, we dry clothes on balconies and terraces. In winter, we have to move our drying racks indoors. During this time, drying clothes takes longer than in the summer months. However, a simple trick can make this task take much less time.
The washing machine makes everyday chores easier. It only requires us to load the laundry into the drum, select the appropriate programme, and press the "start" button to refresh clothes, tablecloths, curtains, and sheets. However, many people still don't know all its functions and ways to improve washing and drying clothes. It's worth learning about the device's possibilities to save time and money.
Drying laundry in winter can be troublesome
If we don't have a washer-dryer or tumble dryer, we most often hang clothes on a standing drying rack, which takes up a lot of space in the room. But that's not the only problem – moisture from wet clothes can settle on the ceiling, walls, and windows, creating unsightly stains and breeding grounds for mould and mildew. Drying on radiators is not the best idea. The radiator is ineffective in this case, and the air in the flat worsens.
Drying laundry on a traditional drying rack can take several hours, and the exact time will depend on the type of fabric and its thickness. For example, thin cotton T-shirts will dry faster than thick jumpers, jeans, or hoodies. Therefore, many people extend the process to several days to ensure everything is dry before ironing and putting it in the wardrobe.
Method for quickly drying laundry
Few people know that an ordinary washing machine (without a drying option) can wash laundry that will be practically dry after being taken out. How to do it?
Most washing machine models offer a fast spin function that removes excess water from the fabrics. To make it even more effective, place a dry towel in the drum with the wet laundry and set the spin programme at high speed. The absorbent fabric will draw excess water from the clothes. The load will be practically dry after the cycle is completed.
Then, simply hang the clothes on a drying rack to finish drying. Drying will take much less time than before. The issue of excess moisture in the room will also be eliminated.
If you dry clothes in a small flat, don't forget to regularly ventilate the room where the drying rack with wet clothes is set up. Additionally, it's worth paying attention to how we arrange items on the rods. By ensuring they are evenly distributed, we won't collect water in one place, which will, in turn, affect the speed of moisture evaporation from the fabric.
