Ukrainian sources informed CNN that technical advisors from North Korea have arrived in Mariupol, a city under Russian control. Soldiers from Kim Jong Un's army were also seen in Kharkiv, reported Yevhen Romanov, the spokesperson for the Ukrainian military.

Another Ukrainian military official, Nazary Kishak, mentioned that Kim's soldiers are preparing for combat, in anticipation of worsening weather conditions.

North Koreans are also present in the Belgorod region, which borders Ukraine. Interestingly, North Korean soldiers wear Russian uniforms but do not live or eat with Russian troops.

Russia and North Korea tighten cooperation

North Korea and Russia are strengthening their cooperation. In June, Kim Jong Un and Vladimir Putin signed a new partnership treaty, which includes a mutual defence clause. Currently, about 10,000 North Korean citizens are assisting the Russians in the invasion of Ukraine, and the regime in Pyongyang could send up to an additional 100,000 soldiers.

The regime in Pyongyang has supplied the Russians with 20,000 containers, which could hold approximately 9.4 million rounds of 152 mm calibre. In exchange, North Korea may receive food and military technology.

Relocation of artillery systems

The Deputy Head of Ukrainian military intelligence, Vadym Skibitsky, confirmed the relocation of artillery systems and rocket launchers from North Korea to Russia. Kim Jong Un stressed the need to mutually stimulate the development of both countries through trade, economic, and technological cooperation.
