Who was Tony Todd? He gained fame from the Candyman film series
Tony Todd (real name Anthony Tiran Todd) was born on 4th December 1954, in Washington, D.C. He made his big screen debut in 1986 with the role of Sergeant Warren in the iconic film "Platoon." However, it was horror films that brought him the greatest fame.
In "Candyman" (1992), he played the title role, scaring audiences worldwide. The film earned acclaim from audiences. Unsurprisingly, two more parts were created: "Candyman: Farewell to the Flesh" and "Candyman: Day of the Dead." Three years ago, Todd made a guest appearance in the remake of the popular original.
Viewers may also recognise the actor from appearances in other horror films or series. "Night of the Living Dead," "The Crow," "Wishmaster," "Hatchet," "Masters of Horror," and several instalments of "Final Destination" are just some of these titles.
