Ukraine hails Trump's victory, vows continued cooperation
Volodymyr Zelensky congratulated Donald Trump on winning the presidential election. The President of Ukraine emphasised that he had a "wonderful conversation" with the President-elect and congratulated him on his "historic victory". There were also assurances about the continuation of cooperation.
Volodymyr Zelensky is another world leader who has announced a telephone conversation with the US President-elect, Donald Trump.
"I had a wonderful conversation with President Trump and congratulated him on this historic victory - his incredible campaign enabled this result to be achieved. I praised his family and team for their excellent work. We agreed to maintain dialogue and develop our cooperation. Strong and unwavering leadership from the United States is essential for the world and a just peace," the President of Ukraine wrote on platform X.
Earlier on Wednesday, Ukraine's Foreign Minister, Andriy Sybiha, wrote on platform X that Zelensky and Trump are engaged in a lasting, constructive, and results-oriented dialogue.
"We will work together to strengthen the strategic partnership between Ukraine and the USA and bring about a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace. We rely on America's decisive leadership," Sybiha noted.
