This marks the largest Ukrainian drone attack on Moscow to date. According to local authorities, all the unmanned drones were destroyed in the Ramenskoye and Kolomenskoye areas of the Moscow region and in the town of Domodedovo, southwest of Moscow. Mayor Sergey Sobyanin confirmed these reports.
The attack led to significant disruptions in air traffic. Sheremetyevo, Moscow’s largest airport, was temporarily closed, and restrictions were imposed at Domodedovo, Zhukovsky, and Vnukovo airports.
The governor of the Moscow region, Andrey Vorobyov, reported on Telegram that one person was injured as a result of the attack.
Simultaneously, Ukrainian drones attacked the Bryansk and Kaluga regions. The governor of the Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz, wrote on Telegram: "Emergency services and firefighters are on the scene," although he did not disclose further details. Several residential buildings caught fire.
The Russian Ministry of Defence reported that Russian air defence destroyed a total of 23 Ukrainian drones overnight, including 17 over Bryansk. Vladislav Shapsha, the governor of the Kaluga region, stated that a non-residential building caught fire due to the attack.
The previous most significant drone attack on Moscow occurred in September when the capital was targeted by 20 unmanned machines.
