Ukrainian agricultural giant Astarta-Kyiv continues its dynamic investments in upgrading its technical infrastructure. The holding plans to allocate over $30 million CAD in 2025 for the acquisition of modern machinery and agricultural equipment, which not only aims to improve production efficiency but also aligns with the strategy of reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

So far, 150 units of new equipment have been contracted, including heavy tractors, beet harvesters, sprayers, precision seeders, and cultivation tools. Some of the machines have already been delivered to the holding's farms and are being utilized in spring fieldwork.

Andriy Zahorulko, director of crop production, logistics, and mechanization at Astarta-Kyiv, notes that the purchase of modern equipment is a component of our decarbonization strategy, which involves reducing greenhouse gas emissions through the use of more efficient equipment and precise farming practices.

As part of the implemented strategy, the company also focuses on reducing the number and depth of soil cultivation and increasing the area of cover crop plantings. Thanks to these measures, Astarta not only meets ecological standards but also reduces fuel consumption and optimizes production costs, as reported.

According to the holding's representatives, the modernization of the machinery park allows the company to better address challenges associated with changing weather conditions. Furthermore, it reduces dependency on external service providers and boosts the economic efficiency of agricultural production. Last year, the company also increased the use of natural fertilizers and developed precision farming technologies, especially in fertilization.

Astarta-Kyiv - A powerful agricultural holding

Astarta-Kyiv is one of the largest European agricultural holdings, operating in Ukraine. Annually, it produces about one million tonnes of grains and oilseeds and is a leader in sugar production and soybean processing.

It also has a well-developed livestock sector — its cattle herd numbers nearly 30,000 heads, and annual milk production exceeds 127,000 tonnes. The company possesses an area of over 212,000 hectares of agricultural land in seven Ukrainian regions, making it a key player in the region.

The holding invests not only in agricultural development but also in logistics, grain trading, and renewable energy production. The company is listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, underscoring its international position and significance in the European market.
