Trump answers Newsom: Protesters "will be hit harder than ever before"
California Governor Gavin Newsom posted a clip of President Trump's statement, warning the country from "an unmistakable step toward authoritarianism." In the answer, President Trump threatened him that protesters "will be hit harder than they have ever been hit before."
California Governor Gavin Newsom published on his X account President Trump's remarks about calling the National Guard to Los Angeles in light of anti-ICE protests. He simultaneously appealed to Democrats and Republicans, stating "I don’t care if you’re a Democrat or a Republican this is a line we cannot cross as a nation — this is an unmistakable step toward authoritarianism."
He also added, "This is a day I hoped I would never see in America." Hence, President Trump just called for the arrest of a sitting Governor." President Trump remarked in his conversation with journalists that he "would" arrest Governor Newsom "if I were [border czar Tom Homan]. I think it’s great." He also added that "Gavin likes the publicity. He’s done a terrible job. I like Gavin Newsom. He’s a nice guy but he’s grossly incompetent, everybody knows," when asked about the dispute between Newsom and Homan.
President Trump's answer
After Governor's post, President Trump answered on his Truth Social, presenting his strategy to resolve the LA riots. "'If they spit, we will hit.' This is a statement from the President of the United States concerning the catastrophic Gavin [Newsom - ed.] inspired Riots going on in Los Angeles," stated President Trump.
He also threatened to use more violence toward protesters. Trump called protestors "Insurrectionists" who "have a tendency to spit in the face of the National Guardsmen/women, and others."
"These Patriots are told to accept this, it’s just the way life runs. But not in the Trump Administration. IF THEY SPIT, WE WILL HIT, and I promise you they will be hit harder than they have ever been hit before. Such disrespect will not be tolerated," he threatened.
