Blaze engulfs luxury Moscow complex Rosa Rossa
A large fire broke out on Monday in the centre of Moscow. One of the buildings in the high-end residential complex Rosa Rossa is on fire. Black plumes of smoke can already be seen from a distance, according to media reports.
"A luxury residential complex, Roza Rossa, is on fire in central Moscow. The blaze has engulfed the roof and upper floors of the building. The cause of the fire is still unknown, and information about any casualties is being clarified," reports the Belarusian independent portal Nexta. It also publishes videos of the black plumes of smoke over the city.
"According to eyewitness accounts, the roof of the residential complex caught fire. Rescuers promptly arrived at the scene," reports the Russian portal Readovka.
Journalists from the same portal estimate that the luxurious apartment building burning in Moscow could be worth more than 3.5 billion rubles (approximately 60 million CAD). The average price of an apartment in this building was about 130 million rubles (nearly 2.2 million CAD).
"All the apartments in the complex have been sold. The burning apartments were unoccupied as renovation work was underway," reports Readovka.
