Bomb targets Russian general near Moscow as Trump reacts
US President Donald Trump was surprised by the news of the attack that took place near Moscow. On Friday morning, a bomb planted in a car killed the deputy chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of Russia, Gen. Yaroslav Moskalyk. "That's a big one. I will look into it," said Trump.
The Russian Investigative Committee confirmed that the deputy chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of Russia, Gen. Yaroslav Moskalyk, was killed in an explosion in the Moscow region. The attack took place on Friday before noon in the town of Balashikha near Moscow.

Trump on the attack: I will look into it
Donald Trump was asked about this matter onboard Air Force One.
Reporter: There was a car bomb in Moscow this morning that killed a Russian general. Do you have any reaction to that?
Trump: Who killed what?
Reporter: A Russian general killed by a car bomb.
Trump: Well, you're just telling me that for the first time. Where did this take
Reporter: In Moscow. It was a Russian general.
Trump: That's close to home, isn't it? That's a big one. I will look into it.
Trump probably knew about the attack but pretended to be surprised. Evidence of this was the question about whether it happened "close to home". The bomb indeed exploded right next to the block where the general lived.
The attack also occurred during the visit of US President Donald Trump's envoy, Steve Witkoff, and Vladimir Putin, who held a three-hour conversation at the Kremlin.
