Trump's harsh words about Canada
According to Trump, the United States bears huge costs related to its proximity to Canada. In discussing Canada, he noted that the country allocates around 200 billion dollars annually to subsidies. Expressing his fondness for both the country and its people, he mentioned having many Canadian friends, including hockey legend Wayne Gretzky, whom he praised enthusiastically. After this brief aside, he shifted the focus back to the subject of economic relations.
He emphasized that the United States does not need Canadian cars, energy, or wood, and trade with Canada is maintained solely out of goodwill. He explained that their actions stem from a desire to be supportive, but emphasized that there is a limit to how long such efforts can continue. Ultimately, he stressed the importance of prioritizing the needs of their own country.
