Knife attack in Amsterdam
The explosion occurred just a few days after another dramatic event in the same square—a knife attack by an individual from Donetsk. A 30-year-old man attacked random people, but thanks to the heroic intervention of an anonymous Brit, a more enormous tragedy was averted.
A British man managed to overpower the attacker, preventing further harm and likely saving numerous lives. Amsterdam’s mayor, Femke Halsema, acknowledged his courageous actions in an interview with local broadcaster AT5, stating that he is a remarkably humble individual now directing his attention toward supporting the victims.
As a result of the knife attack, four people, including citizens of the USA, Poland, Belgium, and the Netherlands, were injured. As reported by the "Daily Mail," all victims are in stable condition, and the attacker is in custody in The Hague, awaiting further proceedings.
