Dietitian's twist: Low‑calorie apple cake delights with 50 calories per slice
Baked goods with apples are always popular. They evoke the cozy warmth of a family home, having been favourites for years without losing their charm. We all have our personal versions of such cakes. This flavour is also cherished by a well-known dietitian, who has created a simple, low-calorie version.
Quick apple-based baked goods are perfect when time is short. Often, we just incorporate apple pieces into pound cake or sponge cake. A few basic ingredients, like flour, sugar, eggs, and, of course, apples, are enough to craft a delicious dessert that satisfies any taste.
Best apples for baking
Selecting the right apples is crucial for achieving perfect taste and texture. For a diet-friendly cake or other apple pies, sour varieties like Antonovka or Grey Reinette are ideal. They hold up well during baking and add a distinctive flavour, with their tartness perfectly complementing the cake's sweetness.
