Will humanitarian aid reach those in need?

According to British broadcaster BBC, Myanmar's military leader, Min Aung Hlaing, rejected appeals from ethnic minorities for a ceasefire in the civil war with the government to allow humanitarian aid to reach earthquake-affected areas. Min Aung Hlaing announced that the army would "continue to take necessary security measure."

According to local media reports, the junta is still conducting airstrikes on areas controlled by opposition forces. Ethnic minorities announced a unilateral one-month ceasefire on Tuesday.

The magnitude 7.7 earthquake that struck Myanmar was also felt in neighbouring countries such as Thailand, China, and India. At least 22 people died in Thailand.
