Egg paste with cheddar: A breakfast twist ready in 15 minutes
An ordinary egg paste with an added twist becomes a true delicacy for breakfast. The preparation is simple and quick, so even on a busy day, you can find time for a delicious treat.
Eggs play a starring role in many breakfasts. Sometimes they are transformed into scrambled eggs; other times, they serve as the base for omelettes or pancakes. When hard-boiled, they can create a delightful sandwich spread, excellently replacing other spreads. While there are countless ways to prepare it, adding cheddar cheese will quickly win hearts, making it a breakfast favourite.
Egg paste with cheddar cheese
Eggs and cheddar cheese make a wonderful pairing on sandwiches. Preparation takes just 15 minutes, and it disappears off the plate even faster. All you need is fresh bread for complete happiness.
Egg paste with cheddar cheese tastes better than the usual spreads. You can choose the type of cheese according to your preference. Mild cheeses like Emmental or Gouda work well, but sharper cheddar or Mimolette can also be delightful.
Ingredients:
- 100 grams of your favourite cheddar cheese,
- 3 eggs,
- 1 flat tablespoon of mayonnaise,
- 1 tablespoon of natural yogurt,
- 1 teaspoon of mustard,
- Chopped chives,
- 2 cloves of garlic,
- Salt and pepper to taste.
Preparation:
- Cover the eggs with water and hard-boil them. Once cooked, cool, peel, and dice them, or grate them. You can also mash them with a fork for a creamier paste.
- Grate the cheddar cheese.
- Transfer the diced eggs to a bowl. Add mayonnaise, yogurt, mustard, chopped chives, and mix well.
- Season to taste with salt and pepper.
The egg paste with cheddar cheese is ready to enjoy right after preparation. If you prefer a more distinct flavour, season it with a pinch of chili flakes. It pairs perfectly with fresh rolls, baguettes, bagels, or slices of good bread. You can also use it in a breakfast tortilla. For an appetizer version, fill savoury tart shells with the paste or wrap it with a slice of ham to make rolls. Enjoy!
