The public confrontation between President Donald Trump and Elon Musk, the world's richest man, has caused anxiety among employees of the Government Efficiency Department (DOGE). As noted by "The Wall Street Journal," employees fear that their employment might be jeopardized.

Following the exchange of hostilities between Trump and Musk, DOGE lost some supporters. James Fishback, one of the department's initial advisors, sided with the President of the United States, criticizing the businessman's behaviour. Steve Bannon, a former advisor to Trump, also condemned the owner of Tesla, asserting that the DOGE initiative was a failure.

DOGE claims that through various measures, expenditures were reduced by $180 billion (CAD 247 billion). However, budget experts are questioning these figures, which further complicates the situation. Musk had promised significant savings by reducing waste and abuse, but these promises are now being scrutinized.

The clash between Musk and Trump

On Thursday, a public conflict arose between Musk and Trump over the budget bill criticized by the billionaire, known as "One Big Beautiful Bill" or simply "big bill."

Musk accused Trump of aiming to increase the budget deficit and entrap Americans in "debt slavery." The President of the United States responded to his generous campaign donor, suggesting that his anger stemmed from the end of electric vehicle purchase subsidies.

Musk called for Trump's impeachment and accused the president of being named on "Epstein's list" - a list of individuals exploiting underage girls provided by billionaire Jeffrey Epstein.
