Europe's first Universal Studios brings magic to the UK in 2031
Themed rides from "Harry Potter", experiences straight out of James Bond movies, or the adventures of Paddington Bear firsthand. Soon, a powerful and modern Universal Studios park will open in Europe.
With the war over, Europeans will finally not have to travel to the United States or Japan to experience the magic of the Universal Studios theme park firsthand. Undoubtedly, it's not an attraction everyone must see when on another continent, but just the mention will surely light up some people's eyes. Themed exhibits, experiences, and, of course, rides from "Harry Potter", "The Simpsons", "Jurassic Park", and "Fast & Furious" are just part of what the theme park's rich offering includes.
Soon it will be within reach for residents of Europe as well. In the United Kingdom, the first Universal Studios on the old continent is being developed on a massive area of approximately 476 hectares.
The attraction will be built on the site of a former brickyard near Bedford, and it is estimated that in its first year of operation, it will be visited by up to 8.5 million people. The opening date has already been set for 2031.
The first Universal Studios in Europe will be established in the United Kingdom
The construction of Universal Studios in the United Kingdom is set to begin next year. According to the production company, this particular theme park will be "one of the largest and most advanced" on the entire continent.
"These are things like James Bond, Paddington Bear, these are things like Harry Potter. We've got so much to be proud of," said the BBC Secretary of Culture Lisa Nandy, speaking enthusiastically about the project that will combine American and British cultural heritage.
The establishment of such a vast complex will also significantly impact the life of the local community - new jobs will be created, transportation links will improve, and tourism will increase. Universal reported that they conducted a survey among over 6,000 residents of Bedford and the surrounding areas, and as many as 92% supported the project.
