Railway incidents in Russia: Two bridges blown up

Overnight in the Bryansk and Kursk regions, there were two serious accidents on the tracks.

Around 4 PM Eastern Time, according to Russian authorities, a bridge over the railway line in the Bryansk region was blown up. A passenger train carrying 388 people was passing beneath it. Seven people were killed, and 69 were injured.

Four hours later, around 8 PM Eastern Time, there was an explosion on a railway bridge over a highway in the neighbouring Kursk region. As a result of the explosion, an approaching locomotive derailed.
