Greek ladenia: The cheese-free pizza alternative to try
Although pizza is often associated with sunny Italy, a delightful similar dish can be found during memorable Greek vacations.
Ladenia is a Greek version of pizza. Its base is olive bread, which makes it unique because it does not contain cheese, not even Greek cheese. This makes it a tasty and lighter alternative to traditional pizza. Just a few ingredients are needed to create something delicious.

The dish originates from the small island of Kimolos, located in the Cyclades archipelago in the Aegean Sea. It's a simple yet very delicious dish that relies on high-quality ingredients, especially olive oil.
It is usually served warm and cut into pieces. It's perfect as a snack, a light lunch, or an accompaniment to other Greek dishes. Keep this recipe handy for grilling season—it pairs perfectly with barbecue meats.
