Rivera received a 45-day jail sentence for the assault, which occurred in July 2024 in Nampa, Idaho. The incident, caught on camera, led Rivera to plead guilty.

The sentence and conditions

The court initially sentenced Rivera to 180 days in jail, but Judge Matthew B. Schelstrate suspended 135 days of the sentence. In addition, Rivera must serve two years of probation and complete 100 hours of community service.

The altercation occurred in the parking lot of an apartment complex, where Rivera attacked the elderly man. The dispute arose over a parking space; Rivera had parked in a handicapped spot, and the man pointed out that this was illegal.

A video of the incident, released by Nampa police, helped quickly identify Rivera. "Our community supports us in apprehending criminals," said Officer Erick Moore.

At 35, Hector David began his entertainment career with a minor role in "Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief." He has been part of several low-budget productions. From 2011 to 2015, he appeared in the "Power Rangers" series. Recently, he starred in "Father of the Bride," a Max production with Andy Garcia and Gloria Estefan, and in the Netflix Christmas film "The Christmas Gentlemen."
