Main Information

  • Israel resumed bombing the Gaza Strip after a hostage was released.
  • The attack included a hospital in Khan Yunis, where a journalist was killed.
  • Hamas accuses Israel of killing civilians and a journalist.

The Israeli army resumed bombing the Gaza Strip overnight from Monday to Tuesday. These actions took place after Hamas released an Israeli-American hostage. Among the targets hit was a hospital in Khan Yunis.

Hamas exploits civilian infrastructure while brutally endangering the Gazan population – cynically using an active hospital as a shelter for planning and executing murderous terrorist attacks in a direct violation of international law, reported representatives of the Israeli military.

Hamas authorities state that several patients and journalist Hasan Aslih were killed in the hospital attack. Hamas highlights that Hasan Aslih was the director of the Palestinian news agency Alam24. Conversely, Israel maintains that Aslih was a terrorist operating under the guise of a journalist. The deceased was in the hospital after an Israeli attack on April 7, during which two other journalists were killed.

Escalation of conflict

Following the attack on October 7, Israel began intense military actions in the Gaza Strip. Authorities in the region report that, as a result of the conflict, over 52,800 Palestinians have been killed.

The situation remains tense, and the international community is urging for de-escalation. Global organizations are calling for dialogue and the search for peaceful solutions. However, for now, both sides remain firm in their actions.
