Israeli airstrikes surge in Gaza amid fragile ceasefire talks
As a result of Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, at least 32 people were killed. The escalation of the conflict continues despite international calls for peace. A World Central Kitchen charity organization vehicle was attacked.
According to local medical sources, at least 32 people have died due to Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip. The Israeli army stated that in one of the attacks, it managed to eliminate a terrorist responsible for the October 7, 2023, assault.
In Gaza, seven people were killed by the airstrike. The attack on the town of Jabalia had similarly tragic consequences, with a member of the local civil defence being killed. Over the more than a year of war in the Gaza Strip, a total of 88 rescuers have lost their lives.
Attack on a vehicle in Khan Yunis
In the southern part of the Strip, near a food aid distribution point in Khan Yunis, Israeli aircraft struck a vehicle, resulting in the deaths of nine people. According to Hamas sources, the vehicle was used by personnel overseeing the distribution of humanitarian aid.
The Israeli army claims that a wanted terrorist was killed in the Khan Yunis attack, and there are suspicions he was linked to the American organization World Central Kitchen. The Palestinian news agency WAFA reported that among the victims were three local employees of WCK.
Amid the escalating conflict, a Hamas delegation travelled to Egypt for talks on a ceasefire. Despite mediation attempts by the US, Egypt, and Qatar, the negotiations have not yet produced a permanent solution. The conflict, which began after the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, has resulted in the deaths of thousands and a deep humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
