Israel's relentless airstrikes exacerbate Gaza humanitarian crisis
Israel continues its airstrikes on the Gaza Strip. According to Al Jazeera, at least 76 people were killed on Friday alone. Witnesses claim that "the Israeli military is killing civilians for fun." Israel also dismisses international calls to increase humanitarian aid supplies.
According to medical sources from Al Jazeera, at least 76 people have died in the Gaza Strip as a result of Israeli attacks since Friday morning, and "casualties continue to mount amid ongoing strikes."
Israel has created hell in the Gaza Strip
- The Israeli military is killing civilians for fun - said witnesses of the Israeli bombings of a family home in the Jabalia refugee camp in the Gaza Strip. Approximately 50 people died in the attack.
This week, for the first time in two months, small amounts of humanitarian aid began reaching Gaza, although some trucks were looted.
Access to drinking water is severely limited. Israel has not allowed fuel shipments for 80 days.
The food and humanitarian aid that has been allowed in over the past two days, as international organizations report, are woefully insufficient and do not address the growing humanitarian crisis caused by months of Israeli bombings and destruction throughout the Strip.
Israel mocks international community calls
Many people, especially those from particularly vulnerable groups – patients and children – are at risk of death or developing severe health complications due to a severe shortage of medicines and other basic survival supplies in hospitals.
According to the UN, the current level of aid is only a fraction of what was reaching Gaza before the war – at that time, 500 to 600 trucks entered daily.
On Thursday, the Israeli COGAT (Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories) stated that "there is no food shortage in Gaza," even though Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office announced this week that Israel allows only "basic amounts of food" to make sure "no starvation crisis develops."
On Thursday, the Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that at least 29 children and elderly people have died from hunger in recent days.
The Israeli army intensified its offensive on Gaza in the middle of the month. Its declared aim is to eliminate Hamas and free the hostages kidnapped on October 7, 2023. Meanwhile, according to the Palestinian side, the Israeli operation has cost the lives of over 50,000 civilians and led to a serious humanitarian crisis in the region.
