Italian politician Lotti sets world record with stroller run
An extraordinary feat by the Italian politician. Lorenzo Lotti broke the world record for running with a baby stroller, running 100 kilometres in 8 hours. This was not his first feat of this type, as two years ago, he ran 50 kilometres with his older son in the stroller.
The Italian local politician Lorenzo Lotti ran 100 kilometres with a baby stroller in a time of 8 hours and 1 minute, setting a new world record. His seven-month-old son slept through almost the entire race.
The race took place in Chesapeake, Virginia, USA. Lotti, head of the sports department at the Predappio municipal office in the Emilia-Romagna region, beat the previous record of 9 hours. Just after completing the run, the politician did not hide his joy at the accomplishment.
It was amazing. My son slept for seven hours during the run, and in the hour he was awake, I stopped and fed him – Lorenzo Lotti told the newspaper "Corriere della Sera". Due to the low temperature, reaching -7 degrees Celsius, the stroller was equipped with special wind protection, and toys were meant to help calm the child if needed.

But I can say that everything went as well as possible – he added. According to the Polish Press Agency, this is not Lotti's first such feat. As if that wasn't enough, two years ago the man ran 50 kilometres in the Netherlands with his older son in a stroller.
I would like to run with a double stroller, together with my two sons - Lotti said when asked about his future plans by one of the journalists.
Lorenzo Lotti, 38, combines his passion for running with his work in local government. Throughout his political career, he has taken initiatives to raise awareness and encourage residents to engage in sports actively.
