Kim Jong Un, the leader of North Korea, urged his armed forces to be fully prepared for war. He stressed that it is a "crucial task" for the army. These remarks were made during special forces tactical exercises, which included operations involving drones.

"Our revolutionary armed forces are now in charge of not a few fronts, but the most important among them is the anti-imperialist class front, and making full preparations for war is the most crucial task," said Kim Jong Un, as quoted by the regime's KCNA agency.

During the exercises supervised by Kim, soldiers in camouflage operated drones. Photos from these maneuvers were published in North Korean media. South Korean intelligence had previously reported on North Korean military training in Russia involving unmanned aerial vehicles.

Support for Russia

Analysts from South Korea's Yonhap News Agency suggest that Kim's references to the "anti-imperialist front" may be an attempt to legitimize support for Russia in its war against Ukraine. North Korea officially confirmed sending over 10,000 soldiers and weapons to Russia.

At the end of last month, North Korea confirmed that military ties with Russia have increased under a strategic partnership treaty signed by Kim and Russian President Vladimir Putin. This partnership aims to strengthen military cooperation between the two countries.

The situation on the Korean Peninsula remains tense. North Korea's actions may affect further regional and international relations and stability. Observers are closely watching developments, wondering what Pyongyang's next steps will be.
