Volodymyr Zelensky reported on Tuesday that Ukrainian forces captured two Chinese citizens who were fighting on the side of Russia in the Donetsk region, in eastern Ukraine. The next day, he stated that Ukrainian intelligence has information on 155 Chinese citizens fighting in the ranks of the Russian army against Ukraine. He added that Beijing is aware of the recruitment of Chinese citizens into the war.
Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesman, strongly rejected the Ukrainian president's accusations that Russia is dragging China into the conflict in Ukraine. Peskov emphasized that Beijing has always held a neutral position and is a strategic partner of Russia. "This is not so. China maintains a balanced position. Beijing denies

The message is that reports of alleged Chinese involvement in the fights have been refuted, highlighting Beijing's neutrality on this issue.
At the same time, China remains an economic partner of Russia, and both countries conduct business with each other. Cooperation between these countries has intensified, particularly since the beginning of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
