Kyrgyzstan protests to Moscow over OMON brutality in bathhouse
Kyrgyzstan has submitted a protest note to Russia following a brutal operation by the OMON at a Moscow bathhouse, where Kyrgyz citizens were beaten. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan warns that such actions could damage their alliance with Russia.
In recent days, an incident has caused diplomatic tensions between Russia and Kyrgyzstan, reports NEXTA. Kyrgyzstan, an ally of Russia, decided to deliver a protest note to Moscow.
Moscow. Beating of Kyrgyz citizens
The reason for this action is the brutal operation by Russian OMON at the "Bodrost" bathhouse in Moscow, where dozens of Kyrgyz citizens were beaten.
Parliament member Janarbek Akayev, commenting on the situation, emphasized the brutality of the Russian forces' actions. "They were beaten as if by the mafia, forced to eat spicy peppers and cigarettes," Janarbek Akayev wrote on X, describing the dramatic events that took place in Moscow.
Kyrgyzstan - Russia's ally
Kyrgyzstan is considered a key ally of Russia in Central Asia. Both countries cooperate within the framework of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and the Eurasian Economic Union.
Nonetheless, Kyrgyzstan is increasingly economically closer to China, which has become the main source of direct foreign investment in the country.
