"Marry Me" Chicken

"Marry Me" Chicken, sometimes referred to as "Will You Marry Me" Chicken, is a dish where pieces of chicken are stewed in a creamy sauce with garlic, sun-dried tomatoes, spinach, and Parmesan cheese. The name "Marry Me" comes from the belief that anyone who tries this dish will be so impressed that they'll want to propose to the chef. This is, of course, a lighthearted joke, but it perfectly underscores how delicious and impressive this dish is.

It's a straightforward recipe, so even someone who hasn't completely fallen in love with cooking yet can manage it without much trouble.

Ingredients:

  • 5 tablespoons of sun-dried tomato oil,
  • 4 chicken breast fillets,
  • 1 teaspoon of salt,
  • 2 garlic cloves,
  • 1 teaspoon of pink pepper,
  • 1/3 teaspoon of chili flakes,
  • 57 grams of sun-dried tomatoes in oil,
  • 1 teaspoon of dried thyme,
  • 80 millilitres of dry white wine,
  • 180 millilitres of broth,
  • 180 millilitres of cream (about 18% fat),
  • 30 grams of grated Parmesan (for the sauce),
  • 19 grams of grated Parmesan (for sprinkling on the fillets).

Add-ons:

  • chopped fresh basil.

Instructions:

Step 1. Heat the sun-dried tomato oil in a pan and place the chicken fillets in it. Sprinkle the meat with salt and sear on both sides until browned.

Step 2. Remove the meat from the pan. Add chopped sun-dried tomatoes, pressed garlic, pink pepper, and chili flakes. Sauté briefly, then add dried thyme and pour in the white wine, broth, and cream.

Step 3. Add grated Parmesan to the sauce and mix. Submerge the previously seared chicken pieces in it, pouring the sauce over them. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan and place in an oven preheated to 175°C for 15 minutes.

Step 4. Sprinkle the baked meat with chopped basil. Serve "Marry Me" Chicken warm. You can pair it with rice, grains, potatoes, or fresh baguette. Enjoy!
