Master the art of egg peeling with a simple jar trick
We often boil hard-boiled eggs several times a week. We need them not only for sandwiches but also for salads or spreads. Not a fan of peeling eggs? This trick will make it easier for you.
When we cook one egg for breakfast, it’s not a problem. It's a bit worse when we need more eggs, for example, when preparing a spread or salad. Not everyone likes tedious peeling, and sometimes, we're simply in a hurry. That's when a trick I picked up from my cousin comes in handy.
How to peel an egg perfectly
Eggs that aren't appropriately peeled, with torn pieces of egg white, sometimes even detached... It's known that the fresher they are, the harder it is to perfectly remove the shell because the membrane between the egg white and the shell adheres more strongly to the egg white. However, there's a method that makes this task much easier. Just place the eggs in a jar and shake them vigorously. This is exactly what my cousin does. How does it work?
You need to shake the jar
With this trick, it's important to put the cooled eggs into a jar, add cold water, close the container, and shake it vigorously. You need to do it in such a way that the shell cracks; then the water will penetrate under it and help separate the layers efficiently.
Thanks to this, the eggs will be ready in just a few seconds, and your hands will remain clean. It must be admitted that this trick is based on the method our grandmothers have been using for years. After boiling, they would cover the eggs with cold water, even in the same pot. This way, they cooled down and then were easier to peel.
Eggs not only for breakfast
Hard-boiled or soft-boiled? These methods of preparing eggs are definitely the most popular. Eggs are an excellent choice for both breakfast and dinner. They are a true treasure trove of nutrients, rich in high-quality protein containing all essential amino acids.
The yolk is a source of healthy fats and vitamins such as A, D, E, and K. It also contains antioxidants like lutein and zeaxanthin, which support eye health. Choline helps improve brain function and the nervous system, while minerals like iron, zinc, and selenium support skin health and the immune system.
