Mats Hummels faces uncertain future amidst transfer rumours
Mats Hummels had a successful season with Borussia Dortmund, but he did not extend his contract. The media is speculating about his future, so the German defender may have to forget about casual attire.
Currently, practically the entire soccer community is focused on Euro 2024. After all, it is the most important soccer event this year. The only other major sporting event will be the Olympic Games in Paris.
At the European Championships, teams are already playing their second round of matches. The German national team was the first team to ensure advancement to the knockout stage with a complete set of victories. The tournament hosts defeated Scotland 5-1 and Hungary 2-0.
Quite unexpectedly, coach Julian Nagelsmann did not call up Mats Hummels for the squad. He had a successful season with Borussia Dortmund, where he also competed in the Champions League final.
Has wardrobe issues due to rumors
The 35-year-old’s future is currently being decided. He chose not to extend his contract with BVB and will represent a new club next season. This sparked a plethora of rumors about the team he will play for.
Italian media speculate that the German is in talks with AS Roma. Meanwhile, according to Catalonia's "Sport," only the details of his contract with the club RCD Mallorca remain to be settled.
Meanwhile, Hummels is doing his best to escape these rumors. On Instagram, he posted a photo from the gym wearing a 2012 Greece national team shirt. He added some telling words to the post.
"It’s hard to find a sports shirt that doesn't later lead to stupid rumors," admitted the defender.
