Medvedev hints at further territorial ambitions for Russia
Dmitry Medvedev is devising dangerous plans. "New regions may appear within Russia" said the former president, referring to the annexed Ukrainian provinces. He added that "this experience [of occupying four Ukrainian oblasts and Crimea – ed.] may prove useful in the future."
Many of the reports provided by Russian media or government representatives are elements of propaganda. Such reports are part of the information warfare conducted by the Russian Federation.
Dmitry Medvedev, during the United Russia party congress, spoke about his political program, which he described as the "development of new regions."
"This experience [of occupying four Ukrainian oblasts and Crimea – ed.] may prove useful in the future if new but very close regions appear in our country," the deputy chairman of the Security Council stated, referring to the four Ukrainian provinces annexed by the Kremlin in 2022.
Medvedev on the choice for Ukraine
Earlier, Medvedev assessed that Ukraine faces a choice: to be with Russia or disappear from the world map.
In October 2022, Vladimir Putin signed a law on the accession of four annexed provinces (Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson) to Russia, following pseudo-referendums conducted by pro-Russian authorities. Medvedev referred to these regions as "Donbas" and "Novorossiya," claiming they had been part of Russia for centuries.
