Meghan Markle's Netflix gamble: From philanthropic duchess to TV critic's target
Meghan Markle, or rather Sussex, is one of the most frequently criticized women in the media. The new show for Netflix was supposed to change that, but the abundance of strange scenes in the show doesn't help her.
Meghan, now identified as Sussex in Netflix's new lifestyle program, emphasizes that she wishes to be referred to by this name. It's one of the few moments in the program where Meghan shares something genuinely new with the viewers. After the premiere's setbacks (it was postponed due to the fires in Los Angeles), since March 4th, "With Love, Meghan" has been available on Netflix and quickly became a hit on the platform in terms of popularity. Unfortunately, it's hard to say that the quality of the content Meghan presents is high. Even those who wish to defend the former duchess find it challenging to argue in her favour.
In her show, Meghan instructs how to make sandwiches for children (you simply spread cream cheese on the bread) and offers a recipe for pasta with tomatoes or pancakes. Satirical comments and harsh reviews quickly surfaced online on the most popular portals. Surprisingly, Meghan seems to erase the efforts she pursued as a duchess, who years ago was committed to charitable actions and social projects.
She supported the victims of the tragic Grenfell Tower fire in London by attending meetings, participating in joint cooking, and publishing a cookbook, with proceeds going to the affected families. Now, Meghan is selling pancake mixes and homemade jams.
