Netanyahu stable after successful prostate surgery in Jerusalem
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu underwent a successful prostate removal surgery. The procedure was performed on Sunday at Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem.
As stated in the issued communiqué, the surgery was carried out under general anaesthesia. On the same day, Netanyahu was awakened and is currently recovering.
During the surgery, Justice Minister Yariv Levin assumed the duties of the prime minister. Netanyahu will remain in the hospital for a few days, which is standard procedure after such operations.
The decision to carry out the surgery was made after an infection was detected in the head of the Israeli government last week. The procedure was also necessary due to his previous health issues.

The prostate removal surgery is another procedure that the Israeli Prime Minister has undergone while in office. In July 2023, a pacemaker was implanted in the politician.
The procedure was performed at Sheba Medical Center. The politician was hospitalized there due to dehydration, which occurred after his stay by the Sea of Galilee.
As in the current situation, Justice Minister Yariv Levin assumed the duties of the prime minister at that time.
The 75-year-old Netanyahu is currently one of the oldest political leaders in the world.
