North Korea has expressed its dissatisfaction with Donald Trump's administration's plans to create the "Golden Dome" missile defence system. According to Pyongyang, this project represents a significant threat.

Pyongyang accuses Washington of an alleged attempt to execute a "nuclear war scenario in outer space". North Korea believes that the US aims to militarily subjugate other countries through the creation of an integrated missile defence system.

The official KCNA agency, citing the Institute of American Studies, stated that the US plan is a "typical product of America First, the pinnacle of self-satisfaction, arrogance, and arbitrary practices". Pyongyang emphasizes that global security is becoming uncertain due to US actions.

As highlighted by the Polish Press Agency, North Korea believes that national and regional security can only be guaranteed through a "symmetry of unmatched power". However, it does not specify precisely what this statement means.

Controversies surrounding the "Golden Dome"

The American administration wants to allocate 175 billion dollars for the "Golden Dome" project. It is intended to protect the US from threats posed by China, North Korea, or Russia. The project is controversial, and its completion by 2029 is uncertain due to potential financial and technological problems.

Critics fear that the "Golden Dome" might lead to an arms race and violate the principles of the peaceful use of outer space. Russia and China have expressed concern, and a Canadian organization warns against destabilizing the balance of power worldwide.

Supporters of the project emphasize that the current US defence system is outdated and needs modernization. The "Golden Dome" aims to use satellites to track and neutralize threats, which is expected to increase the country's security.

Donald Trump has announced that the system will have nearly 100-percent effectiveness. Despite criticism, the project has support in Congress, and its implementation is seen as a key element of the US defence strategy.
