Queen Sonja of Norway was hospitalized, as the Norwegian royal family confirmed. According to the NTB agency, the 87-year-old monarch experienced atrial fibrillation while skiing. Despite initial concerns, the palace assured that the queen's condition was not serious.
Queen Sonja was discharged from the hospital in Lillehammer once her heart rhythm returned to normal. Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre expressed his support, wishing the queen a speedy recovery and future trips to the mountains.
I wish the queen a speedy recovery and hope she will soon be ready for new skiing trips - he wrote in a statement.
