A few days ago, the woman decided to share the story she had witnessed via social media. During the flight, there was a commotion because two passengers tried to force another woman to swap her premium class seat for an economy class seat. The incident delayed the flight by as much as two hours.

Commotion over a plane seat

According to the Reddit user's account, one of the women who purchased a seat in the premium section was confronted by two other passengers. One of them, who hadn't bought a seat in the premium class, attempted to take a seat next to her acquaintance. When she was refused the exchange, she began to accuse the woman, who had paid extra for greater comfort and did not want to switch, of ruining the vacation. "Are you happy now? You tattled on us and ruined the entire flight!" the woman reportedly shouted, after her acquaintance couldn't sit in the premium section at someone else's seat.

The situation escalated when one of the passengers refused to return to her seat in economy class, which forced the flight crew to intervene. "Does she need this comfort plus seat because she’s fat?" the aggressive woman reportedly asked.

It is worth noting that the weight of the woman was irrelevant, as the passenger simply paid extra to occupy a seat in a better class.

After a long exchange of words, one of the arguing women returned to her seat in economy class. The woman who was insulted by fellow passengers, however, stated that she did not want to sit next to such a "monster," even though both had paid for their seats. Ultimately, another seat in the first class was found for the woman.

The confusion caused the plane to lose its position in the queue for takeoff, which delayed the flight by as much as two hours.

The story moved internet users

Many passengers expressed their outrage, criticizing the airline for the lack of a decisive response. "Independent" emphasizes that similar situations should be resolved more quickly to avoid delays and inconvenience for other passengers.

"I don't care what size someone is; you can't cruelly criticize someone just because you don't get your way," one commenter noted. Others suggested in comments that airlines should implement stricter rules for passengers who do not occupy their assigned seats. "Everyone should sit in theirs," "All seat thieves should be moved next to the toilets, in a place renamed the zone of shame" added other commenters.
