According to information shared by the Vatican, the Pope met with the U.S. Vice President, while a solemn Mass was taking place in St. Peter's Square. The meeting was private and served as an opportunity to exchange Easter Sunday greetings.

Pope's return to health

Pope Francis experienced a serious health crisis due to bilateral pneumonia, which required a five-week hospital stay at Gemelli Polyclinic. His condition was so severe that doctors feared for his life. Thanks to intensive therapy, including oxygen and physiotherapy, the Pope returned to the Vatican, where he continues his recovery.

During his hospitalization, Pope Francis remained fully conscious and actively engaged in his treatment, consistently asking doctors for full disclosure about his condition. His determination and will to live were crucial to his recovery. Despite the ongoing recovery process, the Pope has resumed his duties, including concelebrating Mass.

Doctors recommended a two-month recovery period for the Pope, during which he will gradually regain his strength. His recovery is being monitored by a medical team, and he remains under constant care at the Domus Sanctae Marthae. His rapid recovery surprised doctors, who emphasize it was a true miracle.
