The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, expressed gratitude for Pope Francis's prayers for peace in Ukraine.

He stressed that the pope was able to give hope and soothe suffering.

The President of Ukraine posted on social media, bidding farewell to the Holy Father.

Pope Francis as spiritual support

"Millions of people around the world are mourning the tragic news of Pope Francis’s passing. His life was devoted to God, to people, and to the Church," Zelensky wrote on social media.

The President of Ukraine noted that Pope Francis fostered unity and prayed for Ukrainians. "We grieve together with Catholics and all Christians who looked to Pope Francis for spiritual support," Zelensky added.

The President of Ukraine bid farewell to the leader of the Vatican. He also conveyed words of support to all those suffering due to this loss.
