Puff pastry is a trusty lifesaver that works well for both sweet and savoury snacks. You can wrap anything in a convenient store-bought sheet—from fruits to hot dogs. For peach pastries, you don't even need to wrap, making their preparation even quicker and remarkably simple.

You can add fresh or processed fruits to the pastry. Apples, strawberries, or raspberries don't require any prior preparation. Just wash them and place them on squares of dough. Cut the apple into smaller pieces.

Some fruits will taste better if you sauté them in a pan first. Slice the pears and sauté them with a bit of sugar and cinnamon. It's also worth cooking plums to make them soft, juicy, and sweet after baking. Figs, when pre-baked in an oven with honey or sugar, taste great combined with puff pastry as well.

Creamy addition to pastries

Looking for a quick deluxe dessert? Simply mix homogenized cheese with instant pudding mix. Place it with a spoon on the puff pastry square and cover with half a peach. Instead of the cheese, you can add cooked and cooled vanilla pudding. Make a thicker version with 1 3/4 cups of milk to ensure the addition doesn't melt during baking.

Recipe for puff pastry with peaches

From 1 sheet of dough and 1 can of peaches, you can make 6 large square pastries. Want more smaller portions? Cut the dough into smaller squares and the canned peaches into slices.

Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry,
  • 1 can of peaches,
  • 1 egg.

Preparation:

  1. Unroll the puff pastry on parchment and cut into squares. Place them at intervals on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. Place half a peach in the centre of each pastry. Brush the top with beaten egg.
  3. Put in the oven preheated to 175 degrees Celsius for 15-20 minutes.
