Putin stalls ceasefire talks as Kremlin seeks U.S. leverage

Will Vladimir Putin accept the proposal for a 30-day ceasefire and sit down at the negotiating table? Journalists from The Washington Post reveal that the Russian leader will, for now, stall for time. The Kremlin aims to weaken the United States' negotiation position, and the Russians also want to negotiate the terms of the ceasefire in the ongoing conflict with Ukraine.

The Russians will extend negotiations with the USA. They have their own goal in this.

The United States and Ukraine have reached an agreement on the framework of the 30-day ceasefire. Now, the Americans are supposed to discuss this topic with the Russians. According to journalists from The Washington Post, the Kremlin will seek to weaken the United States' negotiation position. It is expected that Russian intelligence services will be involved.

American journalists obtained a report prepared at the Kremlin's request by a Russian think tank. It reveals that Russia plans to escalate tensions between the USA, Ukraine, and allied countries. In this way, it aims to significantly undermine the credibility of the United States and soften Donald Trump. The report states that such actions have been conducted by Russia since the beginning of February.

According to the report, Vladimir Putin will also attempt to delay negotiations. During this time, Russia is expected to intensify its actions on the front and strive for the complete dismantling of the current Ukrainian government. Moreover, the Russian military is supposed to increase the intensity of its actions on the front in the coming days.

It's likely that in the coming days, there will be further airstrikes over Ukrainian cities, and Vladimir Putin's forces will aim to retake the part of the Kursk region controlled by Ukraine. The Russian leader has already announced that Ukrainian soldiers on Russian territory will not be treated as prisoners of war but as terrorists.
