Attack on Kryvyi Rih: Reaction from the USA
"Horrified that tonight a ballistic missile struck near a playground and restaurant in Kryvyi Rih. More than 50 people injured and 16 killed, including 6 children. This is why the war must end," wrote the US Ambassador to Ukraine, Bridget Brink. "Ukrainian Pravda" pointed out that Brink did not specify in her statement that the missile or the attack was Russian.
Horrific attack on Zelensky's hometown
Social media users reported that a Russian ballistic missile hit a restaurant in a residential area. According to AFP, a playground was located nearby. The head of the government's Centre for Combating Disinformation, Andriy Kovalenko, indicated that the Russians most likely used an Iskander missile.
The Russian Ministry of Defence claimed that the target of the attack was a site where Ukrainian soldiers were meeting with Western instructors. The government in Kyiv stressed that this is misinformation.
On Friday late evening, the Russian army attacked again. A drone strike set a residential house on fire, as reported by the Ukrainska Pravda portal, citing regional authority's head, Serhiy Lysak. The AFP agency also reported, citing Lysak, that a 56-year-old woman was killed in the raid, and seven people, including a three-month-old baby, were injured.
